Iranian ‘I’m not Alice’ to vie at Oxford fest

Iranian animation ‘I’m not Alice’ is to compete at the 2021 Oxford Short Film Festival in the UK.

Iranian animation ‘I’m not Alice but here is Wonderland’ has been selected to compete at the 3rd edition of the Oxford Short Film Festival (OXISFF) in the UK.

Directed by Mahdieh-Sadat Ahmadi-Soleimani, the animation narrates the story of a girl who is struggling with the problems of her time.

Finally, she surrenders herself to the birds that she had painted.

The animation has previously participated in a number of international festivals such as the 2020 Directed By Women Turkey film festival, the 2020 Love International Film Festival, the 2021 NOX FILM FEST Salto International Horror and Fantasy Film Fest in Uruguay, and 2020 Veterans Film Festival in Australia.

The animation has been also named among the silver winners in the Best Short – Animation at the 3rd quarter of the 2020 season of the Queen Palm International Film Festival in the US.

The OXISFF provides an opportunity for filmmakers to share their works and experiences. The festival celebrates the diversity and creativity of short films.

The upcoming edition of the British fest will be held online on August 27- September 4 due to the situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
